About Attorney Wendell Franklin
"It’s not about the lawyer, it’s about the client."
Wendell Franklin is an attorney with Chuck Clay & Associates. His areas
of special concentration include premises liability, product liability
and medical malpractice. Wendell brings 13 years of legal experience to
his role, having previously served as an associate at a law firm. He is
a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Atlanta Bar Association and the
American Bar Association.
An Atlanta native, Wendell completed his undergraduate work at Morehouse
College and earned his J.D. at Georgia State University. He completed
externships with the Georgia Supreme Court and the Securities & Exchange
Commission (Atlanta Office). Wendell served on the Georgia State College
of Law Moot Court Board from 1998 to 2000, receiving multiple Moot Court
honors during that period.
Wendell chose a career in law with a desire to resolve conflicts and ensure
just outcomes (possibly inspired by watching one too many episodes of
L.A. Law). Despite his longstanding appreciation of the legal profession,
he managed to acquire quite a variety of other experiences before entering
practice: Wendell was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and
an actor working in various off-Broadway plays and regional theatres that
included The Culture Project, Huntington Theatre, Berkeley Rep, La Jolla
Playhouse, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Cleveland Playhouse, Arkansas
Rep and Weston Playhouse.
Today Wendell lives in State College, PA with his wife, Aquila, and their
three children. His interests include cooking, theatre, film, photography
and martial arts.
